More than a decade learning to see
My name is Oliva Meza and I have spent more than a decade immersed in the world of Mexican folk art.
Before founding Oliva Arte y Curaduría, I worked for 12 years at a foundation that housed one of the most extensive folk art collections in the country. There I learned to look closely: to know artisans by name, to understand their processes, to distinguish an exceptional piece from an ordinary one. That knowledge cannot be learned from books it is built through time, presence, and a genuine relationship with the people who make the art.
The idea of Oliva was born in 2018, and by 2020 it had become a real project.
Today, Oliva works with interior design firms, luxury hotels, businesses, restaurants, museums, and collectors who seek the backing of someone who knows folk art from its very origin who has been in the workshops, who knows the artisans and their families, and who can vouch for the story behind each piece.

Every project begins with a conversation. We listen to what you need the space, the budget, the story you want to tell and from there we select the pieces that best respond to that purpose.
We work directly with the artisans. We know them, visit their workshops, and follow the process of each piece from the moment it begins to take shape until it reaches your hands. This allows us to guarantee not only the quality of the result, but the authenticity of its origin.
Every piece bearing the Oliva name has been chosen with discernment, knowledge, and responsibility to the artisan who made it, to the client who receives it, and to the art it represents

We believe Mexican folk art deserves to occupy the same place as any world-class artistic expression in galleries, hotels, private collections, auction houses, corporate spaces, and in the homes of those who simply love it.
Our work is to build that bridge: between the artisans who create with mastery and the world that has yet to fully recognize them.

We don't sell what we don't know. Every piece in our collection has a story behind it one we can tell because we lived it up close.

The artisan is at the center. Their process, their time, and their knowledge deserve to be recognized and fairly rewarded
